Criminal Complaint Submission Process

To submit a criminal complaint to the Office of the Utah Attorney General (OAG), individuals should contact the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). Submitting complaints through CID ensures proper logging, review, and tracking.

Criminal complaints may be submitted to the OAG CID by email at [email protected]. All complaints must include the following information:

  1. The name, phone number, and email address of the requesting party
  2. A summary of the complaint
  3. Any supporting documentation the requesting agency wishes to have considered during the review process

Submitting complaints through this process allows CID to appropriately log, review, track, and respond to the matter. Complaints provided to the Attorney General’s Office through any other channel will not be considered an official complaint.

The Criminal Investigations Division maintains a standard 90-day response timeframe. CID will contact the requesting party directly if additional information is required.
